#SAMESPOT, JANUARY

This is the road down to Gibson's Beach taken today, January 31, 2014. It was unseasonably warm and gorgeous with clear blue skies and loads of sunshine. This was just after 4 in the afternoon and the kids are still in the jammies as it was Literacy/pj Day at school today. You can see Harwood peaking on your right and further beyond the snow capped mountains of Vancouver Island. This is one of my favourite spots in PR and the perfect spot to showcase the (slight) change in seasons here.

STILLS: A WEEKLY COLLECTION

Again this week, very random stills. I've been playing a lot with a loaner DSLR (thanks again
Jen D.) It's been fun experimenting while learning. I'm saving my pennies to hopefully purchase my own new camera soon. The point and shoot just isn't doing the trick anymore.

6. such a silly thing but this was our first ever real coconut, no joke! Lily has been desperate to buy one every single time we are in the grocery store and finally we made the big purchase☺

Lily's thoughts on her future dorm life

While driving yesterday Lily was telling me how she can't wait to go to school to become a teacher and live in a dorm. She said she only worries about her future roommate "because if it's someone who believes her nostrils are a place for her fingers then we just can't be roomies and I'll have to ask for someone new. Then Mom, if I get a girl who wears black pants and a black shirt, lots of makeup who smokes and has a mohawk with all sorts of colours in it, then we just can't be best friends." I asked her what was wrong with people with mohawks and she replies "oh no, I can't be best friends with a smoker".

Very random stills this week, some from my Canon and some from my iPhone. I'm currently enrolled in a camera course and am hoping to learn loads. Fingers crossed there will be HUGE improvements in my photography skills over the next few months!

Jackson: His devotion to hockey will forever amaze me. Morning,mid-day or in the evening, he's always up for a game!

Lily: Excited to give swimming lessons another go. We've taken a year off to see if she is a little less fearful and so far so good.

Jackson: he may or may not show up in this series every week as he has become 

less and less interested in having his photo taken. 

Lily: always happen to pose, especially after finding a piece of ice to look through

Happy New Year

Today is new and my mind is fresh. Once again I hope for change but also more of the same. I love my little family and look forward to seeing where 2014 takes us. May we have many more days that start with hot chocolates & whipped cream, poached eggs & toast, hikes with friends ( minus the stepping in dog poop) and suppers with family. Today was a great start. Cheers to many more and Happy New Year.
